Silicon Village Computer Centre (Nepal)

The Silicon Village Computer Centre (SVCC) is a computer school in Nepal located in the vicinity of the Chitwan National Park. The goal is to provide affordable computer and multimedia training to local people, especially members of disadvantaged groups. The people of the rural area otherwise wouldn't have the possibility to learn how to use modern communication technologies. Another objective is to provive easily accessible, affordable communication services to the community.
The SVCC is well recognized by the local community and has already trained with success more than 300 young Nepali.

Digital Bridges e.V. supports the project financially to buy new computers and other hardware in order to set up the required infrastructure at the computer school. We furthermore help to find volunteers who would like to support the activities at the SVCC.

More information about the current activities at the SVCC can be found on their website.
